A very popular figure within the club and around Townsville, Justin Pasfield is a quality goalkeeper who has finally found a box to call his own. After playing understudy to Clint Bolton in Sydney FC’s first two seasons, including a championship, Pasfield went back to the NSW Premier League in 2007 to get more playing time.
In 2008 he was loaned to the Newcastle Jets where he was back-up to Ante Covic, where he again found himself behind a far more experienced goalie. But in 2009 he was signed by the North Queensland Fury for their first season and given the number 1 jersey.
After learning from some of the best local goalkeepers, “Juzzo” showed what he is capable of in the Fury’s first season, before injuries late in the year kept him on the sidelines. After a tough pre-season, he will be looking to remain fit and return to the form he showed last season.
