The Fury Football Fever School Program is a Fury Family initiative where the North Queensland Fury Community team make regular visits to schools around the Townsville region.

It is an exciting opportunity for the students and a rewarding experience for the players.

In 2009 the Fury staff and players visited over 50 schools in the Townsville region, attending assemblies, presentations, fetes and sports days as well as carrying out coaching sessions, motivational talks and delivering the key messages of healthy eating and active lifestyle. The response was overwhelmingly positive and we are keen to build upon this success for the 2010/2011 season. At present Community Manager Mark Burgess is busy planning our visits to your school.

Welcoming Optus Small Sided Football!

Small Sided Football provides an enjoyable participation experience for young people of all abilities with a major focus on skill development through freedom of expression, minimal coaching, and limited emphasis on the scoreboard.

Small Sided Football is a modified version of the game designed to meet the needs of players aged between 5 and 12. The smaller sized field with fewer numbers of players per team encourages more touches on the ball and opportunities for more goals to be scored.

Optus small sided games will be played before all Fury home games. For more information please click here. To nominate your school contact mark.burgess@nqfury.com.au

Qantas Spirit of Sport Partnership

Qantas has joined forces with the North Queensland Fury to support Football on a local level. For each of the Fury’s thirteen games in it’s inaugural season in the Hyundai A-League, a school or a local club will be provided with tickets to attend the match.

So far the lucky recipents have been: Ryan Catholic College, William Ross State High School, Shalom Christian College, Bohlevale State School and Southern Cross Catholic School.

Contact mark.burgess@nqfury.com.au to nominate your school.
